Yoga Workshops

Workshop with Nicky Wright June 2023

We were delighted to welcome Nicky back again for further workshop following her successful event in March.

Nicky is an enthusiastic and experienced long time practitioner of Iyengar yoga, qualifying to teach in 2005. She has continued her studies with her teachers Alan Brown and Debbie Bartholomew and currently holds a Level 3 Certification.

As an interior architecture & design graduate she has a passion for teaching in a visual and creative way, her firm foundation of practice, clarity of instruction, humour and grounded nature makes her a popular teacher in and arounds Lancashire.

The atmosphere in Nicky’s classes and workshops is relaxed, inclusive and well-paced.  In the workshops there is a little more time to explore the postures and subject in more depth to help enhance practice and understanding – all at a manageable level.  In the session she will ensure your needs are catered for and that the workshop will be interesting and enjoyable. Nicky has been fortunate enough to visit the RIMYI Institute in Pune, India three times, most recently in January 2018 and she regularly attends events in the UK and Europe to further develop her practice and teaching.

Nicky is establishing a class on Thursday mornings at Read/Simonstone village hall. More details are available on the announcements page or click on this link.

We were delighted to welcome back Debbie in February for a 3 hour workshop following her previous event in September 2022. Students were treated to her expert teaching and experience and her great sense of fun.

Debbie has been teaching Iyengar yoga for over 20 years and now teaches full time after working for 24 years in the building trade as a builders’ merchant.

Debbie teaches at the Manchester Iyengar Institute and across Yorkshire and Lancashire.  She teaches all levels, from beginners to teachers, but particularly enjoys teaching beginners as they have so much enthusiasm.  Debbie has been taught by both BKS Iyengar and Geeta Iyengar in Pune, her last visit being 2014.

Menopause Yoga and Wellbeing Workshops

Our former guest teacher Jo has been studying and researching this area of well-being for some time and is now an accredited Menopause Yoga (MY) teacher. She has put together an accessible, practical guide to support women through what can be for some, a very challenging time.

If you would be interested in attending her classes or a future workshop, please contact Jo directly via her email Yogajo@hotmail.co.uk or call 07967586230

Workshops – General

Workshops are ideally for students who have previously attended some yoga classes and wish to work more in depth. You can always check with us if you are not sure if a particular workshop would be suitable for you.

General workshops are suitable for students with some yoga experience who would like to explore postures in more depth.  Intermediate workshops are aimed at students with at least 6 months’ yoga experience who would like to work on more advanced asanas and finer instructions within a longer session.

Please see the announcements page for details of any events or forthcoming workshops in the area.
